Overview

Note:

In spring 2017, cPanel, Inc. plans to release the described Web Disk application (app) for iOS and Android. For more release information and announcements, read the cPanel Blog.

cPanel, Inc. supplies iOS and Android applications (apps) to allow you to use cPanel's Web Disk feature on your mobile device. The Web Disk utility allows you to manage and manipulate files on your cPanel account across multiple devices (for example, your computer, mobile device, or certain types of software). Web Disk's more-familiar interface makes file management tasks easier for users to complete.

Important:

Before you use this app, you must log in to your cPanel account and use cPanel's Web Disk interface (Home >> Files >> Web Disk) to create a Web Disk account. 

 

Connect to your Web Disk account

Click the tab that corresponds to your mobile device's operating system:

Download and install the Web Disk app.

In the App Store on your iOS device, search for and install the cPanel Web Disk application.

Create a new connection.

Open the Web Disk app. Then, tap the plus icon () in the top right corner to create a new Web Disk account connection.

The New Server interface will appear.

Enter your Web Disk account's information.

In the New Server interface, enter the following account information:

  • Name — Enter the desired display name for the account.
  • Server Address — Enter the server's hostname.
  • SSL — If you do not wish to use SSL encryption for connections to this account, set the SSL toggle to Off. This toggle defaults to On.
  • Username — Enter your Subaccount or Web Disk account username.
  • Password — Enter your Subaccount of Web Disk account password.
  • Sort Method — Tap to view the Default Sort Order menu. Select the desired sorting method, and then tap Done.

Note:

For help to determine the information to enter, log in to your cPanel account and navigate to cPanel's Web Disk interface (Home >> Files >> Web Disk). Click Access Web Disk for the desired account, and then select your device from the Mobile Operating Systems menu. The interface will display instructions that include the necessary account information.


Enter your Web Disk or Subaccount information.

 

 


 

Save the connection.

Tap Save to save the connection. The app will return to the list of Web Disk account connections.

Download and install the Web Disk app.

In the Google Play Store on your Android device, search for and install the cPanel Web Disk application.

Create a new connection.

Open the Web Disk app. Then, tap the plus icon () in the top right corner to create a new Web Disk account connection.

Enter your Web Disk account's information.

In the Add Account interface, enter the following account information:

  • Name — Enter the desired display name for the account.
  • Domain Name — Enter the server's hostname.
  • Select  SSL  to enable SSL encryption for connections to the account, or select  non-SSL  to disable SSL-encrypted connections.
  • Username — Enter your Subaccount or Web Disk account username.
  • Password — Enter your Subaccount of Web Disk account password.

Save the connection.

Tap Save to save the connection. The app will return to the list of Web Disk account connections.

Enter your Web Disk account's information.

Enter the following account information:

  • Name — Enter the desired display name for the account.
  • Server Domain — Enter the server's hostname.
  • SSL — If you do not wish to use SSL encryption for connections to this account, set the SSL toggle to Off.
  • Username — Enter your Subaccount or Web Disk account username.
  • Password — Enter your Subaccount of Web Disk account password.

In the Google Play Store on your Android device, search for and install the cPanel Web Disk application.

Create a new connection.

Open the cPanel Web Disk app. When you open  cPanel Web Disk  for the first time, a window will appear which says that you do not have any servers configured. Tap  OK . Then, tap Menu and then Add Server to create a new Web Disk account connection.

Enter your Web Disk account's information.

Enter the following account information:

  • Name — A label for the connection to help you identify the site.
  • Domain name — The domain that you wish to connect to with Web Disk.
  • Select whether you wish to use an SSL or non-SSL connection.
  • Username — Your Web Disk username.
  • Password — Your Web Disk account password.

Note:
