For cPanel & WHM 11.46

Overview

If you run a firewall, you must to disable it before you run the cPanel & WHM installation.

Important:

Red Hat Enterprise Linux® and CentOS distributions allow you to disable the firewall for the operating system’s installation configuration. We recommend that you use this method.

Deactivate the firewall

If your server runs on CloudLinux™ or you do not wish to use the operating system's built-in method, you can run the following commands to deactivate the firewall:

/etc/init.d/iptables save
/etc/init.d/iptables stop

For cPanel & WHM to run on your web server, the OS firewall must remain disabled. When the installation is complete, configure your firewall with a third-party client. cPanel recommends that you use APF or CSF.
