Overview

This feature shows the total number of message delivery attempts that each domain on your server made within a specified date range.

You can view the number of successful and failed attempts, as well as the total number of bytes sent by each domain.

View information about sent emails

To view information about emails sent from domains on your server within a given date range:

  1. Use the Start Date and End Date text boxes to specify the date range for which you wish to view mail.
    • Enter dates as: month, day of month, year. For example, enter "April 1, 2007" as 4/1/2007.

      Note

      The larger the date range, the longer your query will take to process.
  2. Use the Start Time and End Time text boxes to specify the times for which you wish to view mail. Make certain to select AM or PM.
  3. Click Run Report.

The results table — Historical View

To see how many messages (and how much data) each account has sent within the date range you specified, select Historical View.

By default, this view includes eight columns:

DomainThe domain from which messages were sent.
UserThe cPanel user who owns the domain.
SuccessfulThe number of successful mail deliveries that originated from the domain.
DeferralsThe number of times that a message that originated from the domain was deferred.
FailuresThe number of failed mail delivered that originated from the domain.
Failed + DeferredThe number of times a message that originated from the domain failed or was deferred.
Total MessagesThe total number of messages that originated from the domain.
Data SentThe total amount of data that was sent by the domain.

Click the gear icon to select which information appears in the results table.

  • To add a column to the results table, select the box that corresponds to the column that you wish to add. To remove a column from the results table, deselect the box.

The results table — Current View

To view each sending account's current status, select Current View.

By default, this view includes four columns:

Relay / hr [1]

The following icons demonstrate whether the domain is within the limit for relayed messages for the current hour (from the beginning of the hour until now):
The green select icon indicates that the domain is within its limit.
The red X icon indicates that the domain has exceeded its limit.

Note

The date range specified above does not apply to this column.
Defer+Fail / hr [2]

The following icons demonstrate whether the domain is within the limit for deferred and failed messages for the current hour (from the beginning of the hour until now):
The green select icon indicates that the domain is within its limit.
The red X icon indicates that the domain has exceeded its limit.

Note

The date range that is specified above does not apply to this column.
DomainThe domain from which messages were sent.
UserThe cPanel user who owns the domain.

[1] The server owner can change the server-wide relay limit with the Max hourly emails per domain feature in the Tweak Settings interface. The server owner can also change a specific account's limit for mail relayed per hour from the WHM Modify an Account interface.
[2] The server owner can change the server-wide limit for deferred and failed mail for all accounts with the Maximum percentage of failed or deferred messages a domain may send per hour option on the Tweak Settings interface. The server owner can also change the limit for a specific account from the WHM Modify an Account interface.

Click the gear button to select which information appears in the results table.

  • To add a column to the results table, select the box that corresponds to the column that you wish to add. To remove a column from the results table, deselect the box.

View all outgoing mail sent by a specific user

After the results table appears, you can view more information about all of the messages that were sent by a specific user:

  • Click the row in the table that contains the user's name.

WHM will redirect you to the Mail Delivery Reports interface, where the report will automatically generate. It will list all of the messages that were sent by that user in the specified time period. For more information, read our documentation on the Mail Delivery Reports feature.

Narrow the list of users who sent email

To further narrow the list of senders:

  • Enter your search criteria in the Search... text box.
  • The results will stay filtered until you clear the search box.
